Kauai Here We Come!

Kauai Here We Come! It’s been almost eight years (December 2008 – January 2009) since we’ve been to Kauai — way too long. We spent a week on Kauai for Carolyn’s 60th birthday, and it was glorious! We’re going back for another week on May 3rd, 2016. We found an unbelievably low-priced package deal that includes air fare, hotel, and rental car, so we really couldn’t pass it up. We’re staying in a lovely condo in Princeville, and we’re very excited to have a place where we can relax, cook, sit on the lanai, and generally chill out. Yeah, right!...

On the Way to Giverny

Day One In France We landed at Charles de Gaulle without incident and picket up our rental car. We had decided to go to Normandy, so we set out on the A13 west. It’s only about 2.5 hours to Normandy, but we weren’t in any hurry, and we noticed that Giverny, home of Claude Monet, was right on the way. Tivoli Gardens or Bust We had a big day planned for today — Tivoli Gardens! My mother-in-law has raved about Tivoli Gardens ever since her trip to Denmark back in the 70’s, so I was really looking forward to our day. However, Mother Nature had other ideas.
