We finally decided to leave Monet’s paradise on Wednesday, September 9th. I found another lovely B&B in Basse-Normandie. La Beauconniere B&B, located in Lamberville, is perfectly situated for excursions to the D-Day beaches, St. Malo, Mont St. Michel, and the delightful Haute-Normandie villages of Honfleur, Deauville and Trouville-sur-Mer. Here’s some photos of La Beauconniere B&B:

We arrived mid-afternoon and were greeted by our very congenial host, Dean Harvey. Dean showed us to our room, helped carry our bags, gave us a tour of the facilities, and left us to settle in. Since we had the use of the kitchen and the dining room, we made a trip into the nearest town to the Géant Casino (supermarket) and bought food for lunch and dinner for the next few days.
After our trip to the store, we had a delightful dinner, watched Netflix, and got to bed early as we were on our way to the D-Day beaches early in the morning.
